72 Maharashtrians return back from Ukraine

Mumbai,Mar 1(UNI) As many as 72 students from Maharashtra, stranded in war-torn Ukraine have so far arrived in Delhi and Mumbai on five special flights, a statement said on Tuesday. Out of these, 46 students have been sent home safely through the Maharashtra Government's cooperation cell. The Indian government's 'Operation Ganga' is underway to repatriate Indian students stranded in Ukraine, who is fighting a war with Russia since February 24. The first special flight of Air India from Bucharest (Romania) landed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at midnight on Sunday which included 28 students from Maharashtra. After that, on Sunday morning and evening, two special planes arrived in Maharashtra, each carrying 18 and 12 students. 10 and four students each arrived in Delhi on Monday morning and evening on two special flights. A support room of the Maharashtra House has been set up at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday under the leadership of Maharashtra House Resident Commissioner and Principal Secretary Sameer Kumar Biswas to enable students from Maharashtra returning home to Delhi safely from Ukraine, the statement added.
