Chandrapur, July 10 (UNI) :Chandrapur city is set to receive 30 electric buses under the Centre’s PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, aimed at promoting eco-friendly and efficient public transportation.
The electric buses will be introduced in the city soon, providing commuters with a cleaner and more comfortable mode of travel.
The move is expected to help reduce pollution levels and improve urban mobility.
A total of 50 electric buses have been sanctioned for Chandrapur under the scheme. Of these, 30 buses will be rolled out in the first phase, while the remaining 20 buses will be introduced subsequently.
The local administration has started preparations for the required infrastructure, including development of a bus depot and charging stations for smooth operation of the electric fleet.
The introduction of electric buses is part of the government’s efforts to modernise public transport systems in cities and encourage the use of sustainable energy-based transportation solutions.
