Washington, Dec 19 (UNI) The first teaser for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has been released in theatres alongside James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, teasing the highly anticipated return of Chris Evans as Captain America, according to Variety.
Set for release on December 18, 2026, the teaser opens on a serene farm, showing Steve Rogers riding a motorcycle toward his home while a piano rendition of the iconic Avengers theme plays. Wearing a blue helmet reminiscent of his Captain America costume, Steve is seen holding a newborn baby.
The teaser concludes with the message: “Steve Rogers will return for Avengers: Doomsday,” followed by a countdown timer set to expire on the film’s release date.
Chris Evans last appeared as Captain America in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. After defeating Thanos, Steve returned the missing Infinity Stones to their rightful timelines.
An elderly Rogers then passed his red-and-white Vibranium shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), officially passing the mantle of Captain America, before returning to the past to reunite with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).
Evans will be joined by several original Avengers stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman.
Downey Jr. will reprise a villainous role as Doctor Doom in the multiverse-spanning storyline.
The film also features a crossover with the X-Men universe, bringing in Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, and Rebecca Romijn into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, promising an epic multiverse event for fans.
