Cold wave grips Himachal Pradesh, mercury dips

Shimla, Dec 10 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh is experiencing an intense cold wave due to recent snowfall and a drop in mercury noose by five to seven below normal.
Tabo in Lahaul Spiti was coldest at minus 12.7 degree, Keylong district headquarter was around minus nine, Kukukseri minus 8.3 degrees, Kalpa (Kinnaur) minus 5.4 degrees, Samdho minus 7.4 degrees, tourist resort Manali in Kullu minus 2.5 degrees, Seobagh 2.4, Bhuntar minus 1.4, tourist resort Kufri minus 2.2 and Narkanda minus 3.4.
Minimum temperatures of Palampur and Shimla were at zero and one degree in Kangra district, seven and five degrees below normal, respectively.
Hamirpur at 0.2 and five degrees below normal, Solan minus 0.6 and 4.3 degrees below normal, Chamba one degree, Dharmshala 3.9 and four degree, Nahan 4.9, Una 0.4 and five degrees below normal, Mandi 1.4 , Kangra 2 and Bilaspur three degrees and around four degree below normal.
Light snowfall was experienced at Koksar in Lahaul Spiti and Kalpa.
The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in the next 24 hours.
Dense fog likely over & around many parts of the reservoir area of Bhakra dam (Bilaspur) and Balh Valley (Mandi) during early morning, morning, and late-night hours.
