Future warfare to be defined by integration, innovation and adaptability COAS

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi has emphasized that the future warfare will be defined by integration, innovation and adaptability across land, air, maritime, space and cyber domains.
He has said the Indian Army is steadily transitioning towards multi-domain operations, harnessing artificial intelligence, drones and data analytics for enhanced decision-making and operational synergy.
The COAS, during his address on 'Cross Domain Operations in the Indian Context', at the Cavalry seminar 2025, highlighted that technology is transforming combat, and reiterated that geography and human leadership remain an important aspect.
He also called for leadership at all levels to evolve creatively, foster jointness and sustain transformation through technological excellence, agile command and civil-military integration to achieve operational superiority in a dynamic security environment.
Earlier, the inaugural day of the seminar featured deliberations on emerging trends in tank technologies, future infantry combat vehicles, the impact of technology on the battlefield and the role of drones and electronic warfare.
Speakers including Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor, DCOAS (IS&T),Lieutenant General Raja Subramani, and Col onel AK Sharma (Retiredd), Editor, South Asia Defence & Strategic Review, shared insights on technological convergence, multi-domain adaptability and the imperative for innovation.
The two-day seminar was organised by the Cavalry Officers Association with the theme "Mechanised Forces on the Future Battlefield."
