Haryana on high alert after Delhi blast

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UNI) Haryana has been placed on high alert following the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro station that killed nine people on Monday. Security has been intensified across all districts adjoining the National Capital Region (NCR), including Gurugram, Faridabad, Jhajjar, and Sonipat.
Police have stepped up checking at inter-state borders, railway stations, bus stands, metro stations, and other public places. Vehicles entering the state from Delhi are being allowed passage only after thorough inspection. The movement of people and goods is being closely monitored to prevent any untoward incident.
As part of the heightened alert, all police personnel’s leaves has been cancelled. Officials and staff have been directed not to leave their assigned districts without prior approval.
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) O.P. Singh posted on X (@opsinghips) that the situation in the state remains peaceful, but all security agencies are on high alert. “Citizens are urged to stay calm and report any suspicious person or unattended object by dialing 112. Avoid rumours. All police officers are present in their respective areas, and vehicle checking is underway at inter-state borders. Public transport hubs, parking zones, hotels, and dharamshalas are also being thoroughly inspected,” he said.
In another post, DGP Singh reiterated that the state remains on high alert in the wake of the Delhi incident, adding that “special vigilance is being maintained in NCR districts.”
Faridabad Police spokesperson Yashpal confirmed that the district has been placed under high alert, with additional personnel deployed at sensitive points. Jhajjar Police Commissioner Dr. Rajshri Singh said instructions from the DGP have been issued to all SHOs, CIA units, and crime control teams to remain on high alert and intensify surveillance.
Statewide checks are being conducted at hotels, railway stations, and key intersections, while public areas are under close watch to ensure safety and maintain peace.
