Indian Ambassador meets new Nepal Foreign Minister NP Saud

New Delhi/Kathmandu, Apr 17 (UNI) Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a courtesy call on newly-appointed Nepal Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud, during which the latter said that the close bilateral relations between the two nations would be further strengthened in the days ahead.
During the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry in Singha Durbar on Sunday, the issues of bilateral interest were discussed, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Minister Saud said that Nepal and India have been enjoying cordial and friendly relations for long and it would be further strengthened in the days ahead.
On the occasion, Ambassador Srivastava congratulated Minister Saud and extended best wishes for his successful tenure. Minister Saud assumed office on Sunday itself.
On Sunday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had congratulated the new Nepalese Foreign Minister on his appointment.
“Look forward to working together to strengthen our multifaceted partnership. Best wishes for success in your new role,” the EAM said in a tweet.
Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud has said that preparations are being started for the Nepal prime minister's official visit to India.
While assuming his post at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Singha Durbar on Sunday afternoon after taking the oath of office and secrecy, Minister Saud said that he will continue the discussion for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s visit to India.
Minister Saud said that Nepal is a peaceful country and has good relations with all the countries of the world. He said, "We will continue to make our relations with the countries around the world and with our neighbors more intimate in the coming days."
