Paris, July 30 (UNI) In a remarkable display of determination, Indian archer Dhiraj Bommadevara, just 22 years old, has made a significant comeback in the individual archery event after a less-than-stellar performance in the men's team competition.

Bommadevara, who had placed fourth in the ranking round, bounced back with an impressive victory in the round of 64, defeating Czechia’s Adam Li with a commanding 7-1 scoreline on Tuesday.

Out of his 12 shots, Bommadevara's seven were perfect 10s, underscoring his exceptional focus and technical prowess. The ability to rebound from a previous setback and perform at such a high level highlights not only his skill but also his capacity to maintain composure under pressure.

In a post-match interview following his win, Bommadevara expressed his satisfaction with his performance and his confidence moving forward. "It’s great to bounce back after yesterday’s result. I felt confident today, and I’m looking forward to the next match," he remarked.

Looking forward, Bommadevara will face Canada's Eric Peters in the round of 32. Peters, a former Youth Olympics bronze medallist, presents a formidable challenge. The upcoming match is poised to be a compelling encounter, with both athletes bringing significant experience and skill to the competition.

This resurgence by Bommadevara not only enhances his standing in the current event but also positions him as a promising figure in Indian archery’s future. His ability to perform under pressure and his technical expertise will be crucial as he advances through the tournament. UNI BDN AKS
