Jerusalem, Nov 1 (UNI) The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday it had conducted another series of strikes against targets in the Gaza Strip, including command points of Hamas and its "terrorist cells."

"Overnight, combined IDF troops struck several terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including operational command centres and Hamas terrorist cells," the IDF said on Telegram.

The Israeli military also said it had identified a group of Hamas fighters in a multi-story building located next to a hospital and government facilities in the north of the Palestinian exclave and carried out an air strike against them.

"Furthermore, IDF troops identified a vehicle carrying anti-tank missiles driving towards the forces operating in the Gaza Strip.

In response, the troops directed an aircraft to fire towards the vehicle.

"A hit was identified," the IDF added.

Since the start of the current conflict, over 11,000 targets in Gaza have been hit by Israel, the statement read.

On October 7, Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip and breached the border, killing and abducting people in neighbouring Israeli communities.

Israel launched retaliatory strikes and ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, cutting off supplies of water, food, and fuel.

On October 27, Israel launched a large-scale ground incursion inside the Gaza Strip to eliminate Hamas fighters and rescue the hostages.

The escalation of the conflict has resulted in the deaths of around 1,400 people in Israel and over 8,000 in the Gaza Strip.
