Bengaluru, Sep 24 (UNI) Dismissing speculation over his possible resignation, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that he is yet to review the Karnataka High Court’s order regarding the dismissal of his plea in the MUDA case and will provide a response after careful consideration.

"Today, the High Court passed an order. I have seen the orders through the media. I am yet to go through the judgment of the High Court. After reviewing the judgment, I will react both legally and politically,” Siddaramaiah said in a press conference.

Commenting on the Opposition BJP's demand for his resignation, Siddaramaiah said he has no reason to step down amid ongoing inquiries. "Why should I resign? HD Kumaraswamy is on bail. Did he resign?" Siddaramaiah questioned.

"In an inquiry stage, how can the issue of resignation arise? We will face them politically," he said.

The High Court dismissed Siddaramaiah's plea challenging the sanctioning of prosecution against him in the MUDA scam by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.

The chief minister indicated that he would consult legal experts, cabinet members, party leaders, and the Congress High Command to determine the next step.

"I will discuss with legal experts, my cabinet colleagues, party members, and the High Command — what action to take legally, will be clearly outlined," he added.

Siddaramaiah also accused the opposition BJP and JDS of attempting to destabilise his government. He expressed confidence in the stability of the ruling party, dismissing concerns over "Operation Kamal," a term referring to the BJP’s alleged strategy to entice legislators.

"The BJP is trying to dislodge our government through money power and Operation Kamal, but they have not succeeded," Siddaramaiah stated.

"I am not afraid of the conspiracy hatched by the BJP and JDS, as the people are with our party, me, and our government. Whatever futile attempts they have made to destabilise our government will not succeed," he said.
