Punjab Police Chief holds key law and order review in Ferozepur for I-Day preparations

Chandigarh, Aug 12 (UNI) The Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab chaired a crucial law and order review session in Ferozepur, engaging with officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) from the Ferozepur and Faridkot Ranges, during which directives were issued to ensure a secure environment for Independence Day celebrations.
The meeting included representatives from Fazilka, Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Faridkot, Moga, and Muktsar police districts.
The DGP emphasized Punjab Police’s unwavering resolve to combat the cross-border drug trafficking issue by strictly enforcing the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Key directives were issued to enhance counter-terror preparedness, improve coordination between districts, strengthen checkpoints, and maintain round-the-clock surveillance to ensure a secure environment for Independence Day 2025 celebrations.
The session also featured an interactive feedback exchange with SHOs, whom the DGP described as the backbone of Punjab Police. The discussion provided valuable insights and constructive suggestions, reinforcing the force’s commitment to public safety and community welfare.
The meeting saw participation from the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Faridkot Range, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and all gazetted officers and SHOs from the respective districts.
