New Delhi, Dec 2 (UNI) Amid Opposition members giving suspension of business notice over alleged corruption charges against Adani, Sambhal violence and other issues, and subsequent protests in the House, Rajya Sabha was on Monday again adjourned for the day.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar adjourned the Upper House till 11 AM on Tuesday (3rd December 2024).

The ongoing winter session of the Parliament has so far been a complete washout due to Opposition protests over charges of corruption against Adani group, violence in Sambhal and Manipur and other issues.

Minutes after the day's proceedings began, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon today amid noisy protests by Opposition members. The House reconvened at 12 but was adjourned for the day as the Opposition members refused to budge from their demands.

The House Chairman today received as many as 20 notices under Rule 267 for suspending the day's business and taking up discussion on Adani and other issues but all of them were rejected.

Among key issues on which discussion was demanded include allegations of corruption against the Adani group, violence in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, law and order situation in Manipur, crimes in Delhi and Ajmer dargah issue in Rajasthan.

“I find they do not call for admittance at my end,” Chairman Dhankhar said while rejecting the notices.
