Railways to run special Diwali-Chhath trains from Ranchi for festive rush

Ranchi, Oct 9 (UNI) To manage the festive rush during Diwali and Chhath, Indian Railways has announced a series of special trains from the state's capital Ranchi to various religious destinations across the country.
The move aims to ensure smooth and convenient travel for passengers during the festive season.
A total of seven special trains will be operated on different routes and dates. The Ajmer–Ranchi Puja, Diwali & Chhath Special (09619/09620) will run every Sunday from September 28 to November 30, 2025.
The Ranchi–Anand Vihar Terminal Weekly Diwali/Chhath Special (02877/02878) will operate from October 17 to 31 on Friday, while the return service from Anand Vihar will run from October 19 to November 2 on Sunday.
Similarly, the Ranchi–Ara Weekly Special (08640/08639) will run from September 28 to November 2 on Sundays, and the return from Ara will depart every Monday from September 29 to November 3.
The Ranchi–Jaynagar Weekly Diwali-Chhath Special (08105/08106) will run on Saturday from October 18 to November 1, with the return service from Jaynagar operating on Sunday from October 19 to November 2.
The Ranchi–Purnia Court Weekly Special (08626/08625) will run on Friday from October 17 to 31, with return trips from Purnia Court on Saturday from October 18 to November 1.
The Ranchi–Kamakhya (08621/08622) will operate on Saturdays from September 27 to November 1, with return services from Kamakhya on Monday from September 29 to November 3.
Additionally, the Ranchi–Gorakhpur Weekly Diwali-Chhath Special (08629/08630) will run on Saturday from October 18 to November 1, and from Gorakhpur on Sunday from October 19 to November 2.
Railway officials informed that all these special trains will have general, sleeper, and AC coaches to cater to different passenger categories.
An official said," The initiative has been taken to handle the heavy rush of travelers during the festive period and ensure their safe and comfortable journey. "
Passengers have been advised to book their tickets in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
