TSDCI hosts meetings on 6G standardization

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) The Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDCI) hosted a first-time meeting on 6G standardization under 3GPP Radio Access Network (RAN) in Bengaluru, which will continue through August 29.
A ‘3GPP Radio Access Network (RAN)’ is the part of a mobile network responsible for radio connectivity between a user device (like a phone) and the core network.
Over 1,500 delegates from more than 50 countries are participating in the four-day programme which started on August 25. Participants represent different institutions, including 3GPP individual members, major telecom companies, research institutions, and technical experts.
This is the highest-ever participation in any 3GPP working group meeting showing the significance of this event in shaping the telecom narratives.
TSDSI is the recognized Standards Development Organization (SDO) of India. It is one of the seven organizational partners of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), a global body that oversees responsibility for developing the specifications for mobile communications technologies, including 5G and 6G.
The meeting brings ‘6G standardization’ to the center stage, where multiple dignitaries will exchange their insights on promoting India’s domestic innovation to make India a key player in the global telecom ecosystem.
The ‘6G Standardization’ is the global, collaborative effort by organizations like the International Telecommunication union (ITU) and third generation partnership project (3GPP) to define the technical foundations and architectural foundations for the next-gen of wireless networks.
