Telangana BC Welfare Minister reviews conditions at Gurukul schools, hostels

Hyderabad, Aug 21 (UNI) Telangana BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar held a teleconference with senior officials today to assess the conditions in BC Gurukul schools and hostels across the state.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including BC Welfare Department Principal Secretary Sridhar, Commissioner Bala Mayadevi, Gurukul Secretary Saidulu, and Joint Secretaries Shyam Prasad and Tirupati Reddy, along with other senior staff members.
Highlighting the risks posed by heavy rains and seasonal diseases, the Minister instructed all principals and wardens to remain vigilant about the health and well-being of students.
He directed staff to conduct mandatory health checks, ensure regular cleaning of drinking water tanks, maintain hygienic kitchens, and provide quality food to students.
Prabhakar also highlighted the need to clear grass and bushes around the schools and hostels to prevent the spread of insects. Additionally, he instructed officials to ensure timely supply of school uniforms, belts, socks, and sports kits to all students and to ensure that the academic curriculum is completed on time.
The Minister also noted that the admissions process has been completed successfully with 100 percent seat occupancy. He urged officials to ensure that no vacancies remain in any school or hostel, according to an official statement.
