New Delhi, Jul 21(UNI) Delhi Traffic Police on Tuesday issued a traffic advisory in view of a demonstration, protest and rally organised by the Desh Bachao Morcha at Kishan Ghat, warning commuters of possible traffic restrictions and diversions from 8.30 am onwards.
According to the advisory, traffic diversions will be implemented on a need basis to ensure smooth traffic management and maintain public safety in and around the protest venue.
Traffic is likely to be diverted from Delhi Gate, Rajghat Crossing, Guru Nanak Chowk, Shantivan Chowk, Rajghat DTC Depot and the IP Flyover, depending on the traffic situation.
The police said several key stretches, including Satyagrah Marg, Velodrome Road, Rajghat DTC Depot Road, Rajghat DTC Bypass Road and adjoining roads, are expected to witness congestion and intermittent restrictions during the day.
Commuters travelling towards the Indira Gandhi International Airport, railway stations and adjoining areas have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and factor in possible delays. Motorists have also been urged to use navigation applications for real-time traffic updates and, wherever possible, avoid the affected routes.
The advisory asked motorists to follow the directions of traffic police personnel deployed at key intersections, cooperate with officials on duty and park vehicles only at designated parking areas. Roadside parking should be avoided, as it could hamper the smooth flow of traffic, it said.
