UP govt controls dengue-malaria effectively says Brajesh Pathak

Lucknow, Oct 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak today said that the state government has launched a strong attack on dengue, malaria and other vector-borne diseases.
While launching the third phase of the Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign and the Door-to-Door Campaign from the Urban Community Health Center (CHC) in Aliganj, the Deputy CM said that the Communicable Disease Control Campaign and the Door-to-Door Campaign have played a crucial role in preventing these diseases.
An awareness rally was also held during the launch event and fogging machines were flagged off. During the visit, the Deputy CM conducted a field inspection of the CHC and directed further improvements in public health facilities.
He said that before 2017, the state of health services was very poor, but now the public in the state is receiving world-class health care.
He said that these campaigns have effectively controlled diseases such as dengue, malaria, Japanese encephalitis and acute encephalitis syndrome.
Pathak said, "A total of 13 departments are working jointly in this mission. Compared to 2017, there has been a 98 per cent reduction in the mortality rate of AES patients, a 97 per cent reduction in the mortality rate of JE patients, a 93 per cent reduction in dengue cases and a 58 per cent reduction in malaria cases."
Pathak said that the state now ranks first in the country in ambulance service. "The average response time of 108 ambulances, which was 16.40 minutes in 2017, has now decreased to 7.7 minutes, while the response time of 102 ambulances has decreased from 9.5 minutes to 6.25 minutes. This has saved the lives of millions of patients," he said.
MLA Neeraj Bora, Principal Secretary Amit Kumar Ghosh, Director General of Health Dr Ratanpal Singh Suman, Chief Medical Officer Dr N.B. Singh and other officials were present at the programme.
