UP govt table supplementary budget of Rs 24,496 cr

Lucknow, Dec 22 (UNI) The Yogi Adityanath government has tabled the first supplementary budget of Rs 24,496 crore for the current fiscal in the Uttar Pradesh assembly on Monday.
State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna tabled the supplementary budget proposals in presence of chief minister Adityanath after the zero hour.
Khanna stated that the original budget for 2025-26 was Rs 8,08,lakh crore. Now, a supplementary budget of Rs24,496 crore has been presented. This includes revenue expenditure of Rs18,369 crore and capital expenditure of Rs 6,127 crore.
He said the budget specifically focuses on industrial development, power sector, health and family welfare, urban development, technical education, women and child welfare, medical education, and the sugarcane and sugar mill sector.
Highest amount of the budget of over Rs 4874 crore has been allotted for industrial development followed by Rs 4571 crore for power sector. Family welfare get over Rs 3500 crore and urban development of over Rs 1700 crores.
On the occassion the minister ,announced that the Central government has informed that the state GSDP has rose to Rs 31,974 lakh crore.
He also assured that the government was maintaining financial discipline with control in the limit as per the FRPM.
The supplementary budget is expected to be approved on the last day of the winter session of the assembly on December 24.
