Dushanbe, Oct 5 (UNI/SPUTNIK) Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the leader of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on his birthday, adding that he makes a significant personal contribution to the development of strategic partnership with Russia, the telegram, published on the Kremlin website today.
"Dear Emomali Sharipovich, please accept our heartfelt congratulations on your birthday. You have made a significant personal contribution to the development of strategic partnership and alliance between our countries. Of course, we will continue to actively work together on pressing issues on the bilateral, regional, and international agenda," the telegram read.
The Russian president also said that through his work as head of state, Rahmon has earned the sincere respect of his fellow citizens and high authority abroad. Under Rahmon's leadership, Tajikistan has achieved significant success in the social and economic spheres and has consistently strengthened its position in the international arena, he added.
The upcoming meeting with the Tajik president in Dushanbe will be constructive and beneficial, serving to further strengthen the entire range of mutually beneficial Russian-Tajik ties, as well as to consolidate the Commonwealth of Independent States, said Putin.
